Daria Dzwil is an artist and the owner of Maya Belle.
She started Maya Belle in 2006 as a small, by appointment only, design studio in Philadelphia.
Maya Belle is now known for custom memorial pieces, from fingerprint and handwriting pieces to pets’ noses and paws. Making tangible keepsakes for us to hold and carry with us though life. Her work serves as transitional objects to help those who are grieving.
Daria’s background began with a BFA in Metals and Jewelry at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.
She also always had a strong calling to serve and help others, and is now able to do that through her work.
She is most proud of her work with Circle of Friends, founded by Ms. Lisa Williams in 1999 to educate, equip, and empower women to live their best life, free of violence, as they serve other women and girls. Circle of Friends assists youth and young women survivors of violence, street life, and human trafficking in their efforts to pursue educational endeavors and acquire skills to become self-sufficient (http://www.cofcl.org)
Daria started a line of jewelry for Circle of Friends in 2011 and now creates pieces from the personal messages the girls write in their own handwriting… serving as a wearable reminder of their power, strength, and beauty.
Currently, Daria is studying to become a grief educator to support others who are grieving.
